Born and raised in Eastern North Carolina, he is the youngest of seven children.  He grew up on the welfare system in a house that was once used to store tobacco. As a child, Maurice had a very low self image and was labeled “LD” in elementary school.That title stuck with him until his high school years and it took some time to overcome his low self-esteem, but he did.

Without any formal education beyond high school, he learned how to survive by using his God given talents, common sense, trial and error; and self-education.

Maurice has been in the photography and videography industries for over twenty years.  He was the founder and chief operating officer of M. R. E. Network Christian television for seven years.

Today he is the CEO of, A Spoken Vision, a commucation company that was formed to promote keynote speaking, seminars, and personal develoment. Persistence and determination has been the key to his success. 

"When we know better, we can do better" is the message Maurice has learned from his own life and one he is helping others apply to their lives.
